Carluke Development Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving our community. It was established in 1999 and since then started its journey as a community developer.
Thanks to its hard-working volunteers who care passionately about Carluke, the Trust is pursuing environmental projects, organises town events, contributes to town management and development, and markets Carluke to residents and visitors.
CDT was able to appoint a development coordinator thanks to funding from Communities Scotland Futurebuilders grant. The post that was established just over a year ago enables the Trust to investigate, initiate, establish and deliver even more community activities and projects in Carluke.

Six years ago the Trust established the now very popular annual 10k Race and 5k Family Fun Run. Last year we were able reinvest over £3,000 raised from this athletic event back into the community. Flower baskets and boxes were placed along the High Street and at Carluke train station in efforts to make the town more beautiful.
Our Christmas in Carluke celebration last December attracted many children, young people and adults alike.
The Trust played an important role in the £2.3 million town centre redevelopment by working closely with South Lanarkshire Council during consultation and design stages of the project.
The Trust has also been actively exploring the possibility of a modern new Business Centre in the heart of Carluke. We have successfully completed a feasibility study and hope to take this major project forward to the next stage.
