Youth Board

Carluke Development Trust is working closely with Carluke High School to set up and Develop a Carluke Youth Board, made up of community members who are under the age of 18 and live within the Parish of Carluke.

The main objective of the board will be to develop Carluke into a town for the youth community. The youth board will be a point of contact for community groups and CDT, and will be able to make decisions about future plans, projects and development within the area, including throughout the High Mill project.

We want younger people to be involved in, and empowered by, the decision making process – after all Carluke is their hometown too. By engaging with Carluke High School pupils we have already begun the process of involving students in Carluke community events and projects, and through the development of the youth board, the students will have the ability to shape what these events and projects become.
